Place looks a little old on the outside but rooms have been updated. Bed was a little too firm for me. Its within walking distance of everything you could ever want. Very friendly place. We will definitely stay again.
We arrived very late on a Wednesday night after our flight and were given room 348. This place is very confusing to navigate around. We walked into the room and immediately could smell musty, moldy stale air. Not a big deal I though, maybe the room hasn't been booked in a while and it is hot South Florida. I kicked off my shoes and after a few seconds of standing on the carpet near the air conditioning unit, my socks were soaked. The AC unit is draining into the room and out onto the carpet in the room. It was 2 am, we were both exhausted from a full day of work and traveling so we made sure all of our things were on dry carpet and went to bed. The musty moldy smell was in absolutely everything. The room appeared to be clean otherwise. The young man at the reception desk was incredibly polite during check in and was helpful in giving us info about getting to Port of Miami the next day even offering the shuttle service that partners with the hotel. We declined but appreciated the offer. We arrived at breakfast in the morning around 9, it was listed to be served until 10 am. We found almost everything empty or near to it. All of the drinks like orange juice, Apple juice and whatever else were all out. Most of the coffee urns were empty. Waffle batter empty. No milk, no cream or half and half. A few sad muffins of unidentified flavor, some dried out eggs and two sausage patties. I know breakfast is free but the crowd was still coming in and it was an hour from over. The cruise line and shuttle customers were sitting all over the lobby, drive up entry way and around the pool, there was a 5 or 6 person deep line at the front desk so I didn't get to speak with anyone regarding the room issues. I didn't call and ask to be moved because of it being so late, so I will own up to staying in the gross and moldy room to be my own problem but, the AC unit draining into the room is inexcusable. No staff monitoring and basically no breakfast is also inexcusable. I will not consider this place in the future for an overnight before cruising. Perhaps the Hampton Inn which is surrounded by this laid out, outdated, unkempt motel might be a better choice.
This hotel needs an upgrade. The photos are not true. It's not as pretty as portrayed. The maids weren't nice at all. The front desk clerk, I wish I remembered her name, the one that worked nights was very rude. Thankfully I got help from the morning staff. The lady on the morning shift was kind and helpful. They offer breakfast but there are iguanas all around the patio area crapping everywhere. Not appetizing or sanitary. Even the layout, getting from my room to the lobby was awkward. I do not recommend.
I had an enjoyable experience. Rooms are clean and updated. Hot breakfast in the morning. Nice pool. Staff was very helpful. $75 a night.
My wife and I did not enjoy our stay here. We stayed one night, and wanted out as soon as possible. The overall appearance of the hotel was poor, and in need of a cleaning/remodeling. Molding and texture plasterer is falling off the walls, and the A/C window units are constantly leaking water all over the place.
Inside our actual room, we spotted several bugs (images provided) in and around the sink and television area. I thoroughly checked the bed area and did not see any around after removing the sheets, but this still did not help us sleep at night.
The window unit in our room was malfunctioning as well. No matter what setting we used, we could not lower the temperature from a humid 75 degrees.
Stay here at your own risk.
