I lived there for 5 months with my husband, when he was working for the Detroit Metro Airport, we paid for a handicap room on a monthly basis! There's free breakfast every morning, clean rooms, sheets, small refrigerator, microwave, small coffeemaker, cable television & handicap rooms! If you need extra towels or toiletries just ask for what you need...like packaged coffee, tea, etc! They have a onsite washer and dryer! They even made a smoking area outside in the back of the motel with a few cast iron benches to sit on & a few ashtrays that are next to the benches, I had suggested it to the owner...so people could sit down & smoke without being seen from the street...I even have my initials with a heart that is permanently in the concrete that is by the S.E. wall of the building in the outside smoking area! Plus there are many different fast food restaurants within walking distance, a hotel will a bar inside, close by bus stops...if you need to go somewhere other than the Airport! Only if you don't have a vehicle or a rental car! If you want to order food from a restaurant? They have menu's from different restaurants that will deliver to the front desk, just ask anyone who is working at the front desk for the menu's!
This is the worst place I’ve ever been to. The bedsheets were dirty and it smelt funky. I was hoping I’ll get some sleep but it’s impossible. The walls were thin and you could hear footsteps, people talking, door banging. I was promised a cheap rate. I ended up paying twice as much. IF I WERE YOU, DO NOT COME HERE.
The staff are amazing, Very friendly people, but the rooms are something else. Where should I start, with the bed bugs, the toilet leak, or the door that won’t lock unless you miss with the lock for a few minutes. One word to describe this hotel ( GHETTO ).
Beware - If you plan on using the shuttle make sure you either put your suitcase in the shuttle yourself, or watch the driver put it in. Apparently standing at the curb with your suitcase, having the shuttle driver open the shuttle door for you and closing it behind you BUT failing to load your suitcase and it ends up missing isn't the hotels' responsibility. And do not anticipate any return phone calls or emails, you'll be doing all the calling and getting the run-around only to be told "...but based on the video surveillance the bags were not properly relayed to the driver and possibly never made the shuttle we are not responsible for lost or stolen articles it is something you sign for upon your stay." Not sure about the rest of you but having to replace everything in the suitcase makes for a pretty significant financial hit on someone living on a fixed income.
Nice low budget hotel! Clean, great location by airport and car rental. Easy Highway drive into Detroit.
