When we arrived, the floor, just past the desk, was dirty and it continued right on around to the elevator. I thought this is unusual, and my wife commented " this place is dirty". First impressions. The room was nice. The Cubie on the night stand didn't work, and the tub drain needs to be cleared of hair. (Slow draining)
As a diamond club member I was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism. I requested a early check in. I took a shuttle from the cruise line to the property.
I arrived at 9:45 at that time the property manager informed me that it would be a 1 hour wait, the house keeping had to prepare the room. At 11:30 I went back to the front desk to ask how muck longer it would be.
I was told at this point that it would be after 4:00 before the room would be ready. At this point I got on the phone with customer service to see if I could which location without occurring any penalty. Customer service booked me a suite at a sister property 5 miles away
I as the manager if the shuttle bus could take my family to the sister property (she told me no the shuttle doesn’t travel that direction) I was floored by that response.
After sitting in the lobby for over 2 hours this is the response. I ask to use their restroom, I was directed to go next door to Quality Inn because they were having trouble with the water.
On the way over to the Quality Inn I had to dodge the outdoor sprinkler system. If the property is having trouble with the interior water, why is the sprinkler system being used. Turn the water off and address your water problems.
I have received better service at a Motel 6.
This was top 3 worst places I have ever stayed at. I travel for work every week and I stay at Hilton’s as I am a diamond member. So, I am making my review based off of the other Hilton’s I stayed at. As soon as you walk into the hotel it seems dingy. The check in experience was not great. Normally I get offered water and a snack at Hampton inns. The gentleman working that day did t seem he was interested in working that day. Now as for the room, as soon as I walked in it had a odor as if there was no air circulation. The bathroom in its entirety looked really nasty. The carpet looked like it had seen better days. This was also the first time where there was no fridge and microwave in a Hampton inn. I have a few more trips to Fort Lauderdale and I will pay a few more dollars and stay and another Hilton property but I don’t think I can ever return to this one.
Needs the following better communication for late check-out as the maid will bang on your door when do not disturb is clearly on the door, secondly found fecal matter cluster to toilet seat, food debris, and medication on the floor. Wow a child could've died. The property needs to be updated and/or at least well cleaned and maintained at the very least. Book a 5 star as the beach is so close to the airport. I am a local and just flown in the find my air conditioner not working so took my suitcase and booked the last room. I am used to 5-stars for 900 plus a night and was just happy to stay cool, but neither the conditions at home or this property were acceptable of a 4 star. Bad coffee in and around the surrounding area unless MCD's is your thing.
When I first check in I was unhappy with the room. It had an old fashion feel. For the amount of money I was paying. I was expecting so much more. So I called Hilton and explain my issue. When I came back to the front desk. I spoke with a young lady name Alicia. She gave me a complimentary upgrade. She was extremely helpful and awesome in taking care of me. I will definitely come back. The service was outstanding in making my stay memorable.
