When I arrived I had to wait for them to see if they actually did have any rooms available because they were full, even though I had a reservation. The room they had available was not the king size room I had reserved.
The room was a bit musty and old. Definitely wasn't upgraded with the rest of the hotel. However it was very clean so it was fine.

the make your own breakfast bar was $10/ person which was basically like the free breakfast at any other hotel

The hotel itself was clean and it had the old vintage feel to it. My problem was with the front desk and the reservations department. We stayed both Friday and Saturday night, we checked in but had to move 3 times because the staff could not figure out which rooms were connected. The hotel does not have bellhops so you had to pull and push your own luggage cart. We finally settled for any room because we were so tired from going back and forth. Saturday morning, I had a prearranged room key pick up at 6:30 am for a bridal parlor and 2 bi-level suites reserved. At 6:30am, I came down in my pj's providing all information for 5-10 minutes everything that was asked of me from the front desk to say "information is all correct but we need an ID'" Go back to the room get my ID, pack our stuff to move to the parlor and suites to find out... once again they assigned us the wrong rooms!
We had these reservations because I was getting married at their hotel penthouse ballroom. We booked over 30+ rooms from family and guests, we were the only guests for the weekend. I could easily understand if we made a reservation on the same day, couldn't decide what room we wanted...but these reservations were made 1 year in advance with confirmation via emails and confirming reserved rooms hours prior to checking in. Mind you that these are rooms they normally book for weddings! Let's just say that my wedding day began with all the mix-up and stress, the wonderful hotel housekeeping Maria found me in the hallway crying. We ran about 20 minutes behind from getting ready. makeup, hair, limo and we had to cut my bridal photos so we can make it to the ceremony on time.
I called on the next business day, the supervisor mentioned she expected my call and that Maria explained to them what happened..she apologized and said she was going to talk to her boss... and I've yet to hear from them. The staff at Victoria Banquets were great and helpful but the hotel stay awful!

Review during stay...
Room is decent... majority of the plugs are touchy or dont work... amenities are nice like pool and weight room
The $10 breakfast is the same you get at any free hotel or worse... for $100/ night you would think the breakfast bar (make your own stuff) would be free

Great front desk folks. AC worked beautifully. Nice bed. Great workout room. Pool was 2 degrees above freezing. Hot tub zero water. Floors of hotel must have been poured when the cement crew was drunk because there are slight slopes all over! Rooms are older despite newer lobby. Close to airport with frequent shuttle. Breakfast $10 per adult.
