This hotel is fairly clean and in a convenient location for visiting Charleston. Our first room had a wasp in it and the mini fridge was moldy. They got us a new room right away and that room was clean. It's close to the outlet mall and airport, you can't hear any planes. The common areas have been recently redone and were beautifully decorated. Ultimately, would stay here again.
Attended a 2-day conference here, and the food and amenities were great for our 50-person group. Very nice rooms and good service all around.
I have stayed at other crown plaza hotels and this one is a disappointment. Beds is noisy and mattress feels like is 50 years old. Fancy decor but a lot of details that compare to a motel 6.
I am very disappointed with my stay. The roof has a severe leak. The GM and supervisors know this and do absolutely nothing about it. They're more worried about the bottom dollar and not the guests stay. My window also leaks water and has a terrible wind howling noise. They did offer to change my room but that doesn't fix the root problem. After speaking with 2 maintenance workers, this has been brought to corporate headquarters attention and not fixed. This has been an issue for 7 years. I have pictures and a video of the problems. Lastly, no microwave in the rooms.
I expected more from a Crown Plaza Hotel.
From the beginning there have been nothing but communication issues. I booked my room in Feb. fora specific conference in which I was suppose to get the conference rate. I received to emails stating the. Inference rate however when I called the main # to the hotel they could not see the conference rate. I dealt with this issue for 3 days straight until I was given the rate. Again, had two emails sent that showed the correct rate that I was to get. Then I check in last night and the front desk has the room down as a king and again for all my calls verifying I had two queen beds. Finally, came back from the first day of the conference at 4:20p.m and my room has not been touched. My mother calls down to the front desk and she is told that there was a full house and they are behind. I have not been happy with the customer service or the responses we have received From head management , voicemail being full, to front desk unable to write down in detail to other staff members what is going on with ones account. And to lower management not returning phone calls. Very disappointed with this establishment and will never book with them in any state again. Housekeeping when they arrived from a hectic schedule because of large groups coming in were very friendly and helpful.
