Queens Museum parking
Queens Museum, formerly known as the Queens Museum of Art, is a popular art museum in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. There is limited free parking on the premises, but you’ll find plenty of alternative parking options nearby. We whittled down the best parking lots below with tips on how to use public transit if you’re looking to forego parking entirely.
The museum sits at the following address: Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Building, Queens NY 11368, United States
Museum Tickets and Hours
The museum is closed Monday to Tuesday and on specific holidays. Operating hours vary throughout the week.
Day | Operating Hours |
Monday – Tuesday | Closed |
Wednesday – Friday | 12 PM – 5 PM |
Saturday – Sunday | 11 AM – 5 PM |
All visitors enjoy free admission by booking a timed ticket in advance, while tour groups must reserve their slots before visiting and pay $6 per person.
While the entrance is free for individual guests, the museum employs a pay-as-you-wish policy for visitors who want to support the museum. The suggested admission is $8 for adults and $4 for seniors. Entrance is free for children 18 and under, students of New York City colleges, and New York City Department of Education employees.
Convenient Parking Near the Museum
The museum offers free on-site parking on two surface lots (green circles), but as spaces are minimal, we do not recommend parking here. You can take your chances, but note that even the museum suggests eschewing their parking lot in favor of public transportation.
Fortunately, you’ll find several Queens Museum parking options within Flushing Meadows-Corona Park (red circles), less than a 13-minute walk from the museum. We listed these lots below (click the links to see their location in SpotAngels).
Parking Lot | Address |
Queens Zoo | 52-11 111th Street |
Corona Park Lot | 8 Meridian Road |
Parking Lot A | 8 Meridian Road |
Preferred Parking Lot B | 26 Meridian Road |
Parking is also available in the New York Hall of Science private lot for $12, just a 2-minute walk away from the museum. Alternatively, Flushing Meadows Pitch & Putt situated next to the Shea Stadium offers free parking.
Alternative Parking Options Near the Museum
In addition to the abovementioned lots, try the following garage and surface lots much farther from the museum. Depending on the time of day or the platform, parking prices may differ. The following facilities may offer free parking extensions through applications such as SpotHero.
Facility | Address | Rate | Distance |
108-40 Horace Harding Expy. Garage | 6225 108th St. | $25 | 0.9 mi |
Skyview Mall Garage | 40-24 College Point Blvd. | $3 | 1.3 mi |
Springhill Suites Garage | 112-15 Northern Blvd | $20 | 1.7 mi |
Street Parking Near the Museum
You’ll find abundant street parking in the Corona neighborhood, just a 12-minute walk from the museum. However, you’ll have to contend with stiff competition from locals and tourists. Most street parking here is free for an hour, but make sure to read the signs to avoid an NYC parking ticket.
Use Public Transportation
You can reach the museum via the MTA Subway or Bus. Train line 7 stops by the Mets-Willets Point Station and the 111th Street subway stop. Both stations are a 15-minute walk from the museum. The MTA Q48 bus has several stops along Roosevelt Avenue, less than a 10-minute walk from the museum. Riding the subway and the bus costs $2.75 for most riders.
