Balboa Park Parking
This urban park covers 1,200 acres and features gardens, museums, theaters, and the Zoo. Balboa Park is minutes from downtown San Diego and is accessible from most freeways, but traffic and parking can be a hassle during events or peak times. Balboa Park Free Parking Options
Just like admittance to the park grounds, visitor parking is free in all lots and obtainable on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Inspiration Point Parking Lot is on the east side of Park Boulevard, in front of the Balboa Park Activity Center—click here for directions. It offers easy access to the free tram, which circles the park, its attractions, and the Visitor Center. The lot just south of it accommodates oversized vehicles and is also accessible from Park Blvd.
Additionally, several smaller parking areas are placed throughout the park. These usually fill up quickly, so we recommend early arrival. Electric vehicle charging stations are available in the Pan American Plaza, Fleet Science Center, and San Diego Zoo parking lots.

Valet Parking Availability
Convenient valet service is available for a reasonable fee in front of The Prado Restaurant, at 1549 El Prado, San Diego, CA. It’s available Tuesday through Sunday, and operating hours vary according to the day.
Public Transportation Options
Orange, Blue, and Silver Lines stop at City College Station, a 15-minute walk south of the park. See the trolley map here. Alternatively, hop on a Bus Route 120, Route 7, or Rapid 215—all pass through the park, within walking distance of all points of interest. The MTS one-way fare is $2.50 for both trolleys and buses.
