When and Where Is Lollapalooza 2022?

Grant Park has hosted this music festival since 1991 in Downtown Chicago, and the same is planned for this year. Stages are typically set up on Monroe Street, Columbus Drive, and the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Ida B. Wells Drive. The music festival begins on Thursday, July 28, and ends on Sunday, July 31. 

Start and end times vary every day, but entries are usually spread out between 12 PM to 10 PM.

Top Lollapalooza Parking Options

Several parking garages are located near Grant Park, but the most convenient parking for Lollapalooza are Millennium Lakeside and Millennium Park Garage, located at 5 South Columbus Drive (between Monroe & Randolph). Grant Park North & South are also excellent nearby choices.

Lakeside and Park Garages are adjacent to the north entrance and offer easy access to Lake Shore Drive and Michigan Ave. These are ideal if you’re looking to avoid congestion and roadside closures. The rates are listed below:

Festival Lineup & Schedule

The music festival will feature nine stages and over 170 bands from all over the world. This year holds an impressive lineup of headliners, including Metallica, Doja Cat, Lil Baby, Dua Lipa, Green Day, J. Cole, Kygo, and Machine Gun Kelly. Additional Info & Tips for Festival Attendees

Here’s a roundup of tips and reminders to ensure a hassle-free experience during the weekend music festival. 

  • All bags, apart from fanny packs and small purses that are 4.5’’ x 5.5’’ or smaller in size, must be fully clear and constructed from clear plastic, PVC or vinyl. Bags and backpacks with more than one pocket are not allowed. 
  • Festival-goers are prohibited from bringing several items, including aerosol containers, coolers, professional cameras, umbrellas, and skateboards, among others. Check out the festival’s policy on what you can bring.
  • Wristbands are non-exchangeable and non-transferable. Only wristbands bought from Front Gate Tickets or the Festival Verified exchange would be accepted.
