Short answer. The Dome's own lots are first come, first served, gateless, and paid from your phone. The venue says rates run $15 to $60 a vehicle depending on the event, and that the lots are very limited and fill quickly. The only lot you can reserve is Preferred Lot F, and only for some shows: $70 plus tax for LE SSERAFIM on September 20 and $60 plus tax for Pentatonix on November 5, sold online through Premium Parking.
Two things surprise first-timers. There is no tailgating and no alcohol in the lots. And Tacoma Dome Station's big free garage next door can charge for parking on Dome event nights, with signs going up the day before.

How paying for a Dome lot works
The Dome switched its lots to a gateless system run by Premium Parking. You park, then pay from your phone: scan the QR code on the lot signs, text the lot's location number to 504504, or use the Premium Parking app, entering your license plate and a card. There are no attendants to pay and no gates. If you don't have a phone or a card, the venue says Guest Services inside can help. The building itself is cashless, with cash-to-card kiosks near Section 109.
- Which lots: the official map shows Lots A, C and G for general parking, Lot F as Preferred, Lots D and K for accessible parking, and Lots H, I, J and M as reserved. Space counts are not published.
- Price: $15 to $60 a vehicle depending on the event, per the parking page. The accessibility page says $15 to $45. Free-parking events do exist: the Tacoma Fall RV Show, October 1 to 4, and the T-Town expo on October 30 both advertise free parking.
- RVs and buses may park during events if space allows and are charged by the number of spaces used. No overnight RV parking.
- Opening time for the lots is not published. Doors for most arena events open 90 minutes before start time.
- Re-entry to the building is prohibited for most events. The venue publishes no in-and-out rule for the lots.
- No tailgating. The A-to-Z guide bans tailgating, drinking in the lots or in vehicles, and gas, electric or charcoal barbecues.

Tacoma Dome Station: the garage next door
The two garages at Tacoma Dome Station hold about 2,400 cars, 2,283 of them counted for Sound Transit riders, at 610 Puyallup Avenue and 505 E. 25th Street. On a normal day parking there is free for up to 24 hours. Both Pierce Transit, which owns the garages, and Sound Transit say a charge may apply when there is an event at the Dome, and Pierce Transit says it posts signs for pay-to-park events within 24 hours. Neither publishes the event rate or the walking distance to the Dome. Freighthouse Square, whose lobby holds the station's ticket machines, publishes no parking rate of its own.
Getting there without parking
- T Line light rail links Tacoma Dome Station with downtown Tacoma and the Hilltop for $2, free for riders 18 and under, every 12 minutes until 8 p.m. and every 20 minutes until 10:30 p.m., every 20 minutes on Sundays. It's the practical way to use a cheap downtown lot for an evening show.
- Sounder S Line commuter trains serve the station on weekdays only, and the last train out of Tacoma Dome leaves at 5:15 p.m., so it does not work for evening events. Tacoma to Seattle is $5.25 one way.
- Sound Transit Express routes 574, 590, 594, 595 and 597 stop at the station, $3 for adults.
- Pierce Transit routes, including the Stream line to Spanaway, 41, 400, 500 and 501, cost $2 a ride or $5 for a day pass, free for youth. Exact change only on board.
- Neither agency publishes added service for Dome events. The venue encourages transit and shared rides, and warns that its parking is very limited.
Rideshare
The Dome runs two rideshare zones for major events, both starred on the official map: Location 1 on Brotman Way, which is rideshare only with no event parking, and Location 2 on Wiley Avenue. The venue asks that nobody is dropped off or picked up in the D Street loading zone on event days.
Accessible parking
Lots D and K are the accessible lots, first come, first served, with van-accessible spaces, and a placard or accessible plate is required. Standard event rates apply. The venue says all of its lots are wheelchair accessible.
Roads: the exit to skip and the bridge that's closed
- The Dome's directions page says I-5 Exit 133 is generally closed for high-volume events and traffic is rerouted. Use Exit 135 to Portland Avenue heading south, or Exit 134 to Portland Avenue heading north.
- The Fishing Wars Memorial Bridge between Fife and Tacoma on Puyallup Avenue has been closed to all traffic since 2023 on federal orders, with no reopening date. The city expects design work on a replacement to start in December 2026. Coming from Fife, use I-5.
- WSDOT opened the first two miles of the SR 167 expressway between I-5 in Fife and SR 509 on September 13, 2026, which changes the approach from the Port side.
- The station garages had lane and sign work through May 2026. The Sound Transit plan for up to 300 new station parking stalls is still in planning, not construction.
What this guide doesn't recommend
- Arriving at showtime expecting a Dome lot. The venue says its lots are very limited and fill quickly, and only Lot F can be reserved.
- Buying a third-party pass for Lot A. Premium Parking says spaces are not guaranteed for passes bought off site.
- Counting on the station garage being free. It usually is, but not necessarily on event nights.
- Taking the Sounder to an evening show. The last train leaves before most doors open.
