Xcel Energy Center is a multi-purpose indoor venue that can accommodate nearly 18,000 guests. It’s placed at 199 W Kellogg Blvd, St Paul, MN 55102, in downtown Saint Paul, and allows easy access by road and rail. As the home arena of the NHL Minnesota Wild, the arena has plenty of event parking spaces in the vicinity. Xcel Energy Center Parking Ramps
Two event parking facilities are directly connected to Xcel Energy Center through climate-controlled skyways:
- RiverCentre Parking Ramp at 150 W Kellogg Boulevard is across the street from the arena
- Kellogg Underground Parking at 129 W Kellogg Boulevard is adjacent to the complex

To speed up the process and avoid high drive-up rates, we suggest that you book parking ahead of time. Rates vary depending on the event, but you can find a spot in the RiverCentre Parking Ramp for as low as $17 if you make a reservation early enough. Accessible Parking
Both garage parking structures offer ADA parking at Xcel Energy Center on a first-come, first-served basis. The RiverCentre Ramp is the most suitable and has elevator access to the venue’s event facilities. Parking is limited, so please pre-book a parking spot and arrive early. Also, be sure to display a valid disabled parking permit or placard. If you search for convenient parking for oversized vehicles, call 651-202-2741 and make arrangements with Union Depot Lot C at least 24 hours before the game.
Minnesota Wild Parking Near Xcel Energy Center Parking
To reduce the expenses, you can reserve parking in one of the lots in the vicinity. Arena’s official website suggests several self-parking ramps near Xcel Energy Center, including Lawson Commons, 411 Cedar Street, and 56 E. 6th Street. We looked into them and a few other facilities to find the most affordable options—check them out in the following list:

Downtown Metered Parking + Free Parking Spots
Many downtown parking meters are placed within walking distance of Xcel Energy Center and are in effect between 8 AM and 10 PM Monday through Saturday. After 6 PM, event rates apply, but you could find free parking near Xcel Energy Center, about 10 to 15 minutes away. To get a free street parking space, go north of I-35—most residential streets in that area don’t have parking restrictions. Check the signs and make sure you park properly to avoid parking tickets!
Tailgating Information + Where To Grab a Drink
The National Hockey League fans cannot tailgate in the surrounding car parking structures, but visiting a nearby pub or restaurant is a great idea! We looked into such properties in the area and singled out the best-rated options:

All of them are within a several-minute walk of Xcel Energy Center.
How To Get To the Arena via Public Transit
Public transit gives you a reliable and affordable way to reach the arena, especially the light rail, which also allows you to avoid traffic. The Central Station is a 10-minute walk from Xcel Energy Center, and it’s served by Green Line trains. The Metro Transit one-way fare is $2.00 during non-rush hours and $2.50 during peak times. Alternatively, you can use an app-based transportation service, which is ideal if going with a couple of friends. The TNC pick-up/drop-off zone for Minnesota Wild games is at Gate 4 on 5th Street. By using one of these services and avoiding parking, Xcel Energy Center visitors will save both time and money!
