How Much Are Tickets to the Bronx Zoo?
The Bronx Zoo admission charge depends on the time of the year, and it’s usually more affordable during the winter season. The daily ticket price also depends on the visitor’s age. So, let’s take a look at our lists below and discover the general Bronx Zoo admission fees; note that the listed rates include unlimited rides and attractions.
The first row provides Bronx Zoo admission from November to the end of March, while the rates in the final row apply from March 27th to November 6th, 2021.
Visitor | Price(November-March) | Price(March-November) |
Adult (13 & over) | $30.95 | $39.95 |
Senior (65 & over) | $28.95 | $34.95 |
Child (3-12) | $22.95 | $29.95 |
Apart from the all-inclusive tickets, the Bronx Zoo also offers Limited Admission tickets for park entry only, which are cheaper.

So, choose between the all-inclusive ticket and limited admission ticket, and then purchase it online in a few simple steps. If you decide upon the latter option, you must buy additional attraction tickets for premium exhibits; the price is $6 per attraction. Of course, admission is free for children younger than 3.

Bronx Zoo Parking Options
The Bronx Zoo is situated at 2300 Southern Blvd, The Bronx, NY 10460, and its gates are open from 10 AM every day. In case you need driving directions to the Bronx Zoo, use the listed address. The zoo has two main entrances — Bronx River Gate and Southern Boulevard Gate — and there’s a car parking area at each gate. Our list below shows you the two main Bronx Zoo parking lots. There’s also the Asia lot, while Preferred Parking at Fountain Circle is available on weekends only.
For the best arrival experience, the Bronx Zoo recommends using the Southern Boulevard parking lot.
How Much is Parking at the Bronx Zoo?
The zoo offers several convenient parking structures, and the general parking rate is $17 (except for the Fountain Circle lot). Listed below are the official Bronx Zoo parking services with rates and additional info.
- The Southern Boulevard Parking Lot (C) accommodates both cars and buses. The car parking price is $17, while the daily parking rate for buses is $20. This lot gives you access to more level areas of the park, and so it’s recommended by the Bronx Zoo.
- The Bronx River Parking Lot (B) offers a few parking areas; visitors may be directed to specific lot locations based on parking availability, construction work, or traffic patterns. This lot doesn’t accommodate oversized vehicles. The standard daily parking rate is $17.
- Preferred Parking is available at Fountain Circle and offers quick access to zoo exhibits, but it’s open on weekends only. On other days, only WCS staff and authorized guests can park there. The standard daily rate for the preferred parking service is $23.
The Bronx Zoo parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You cannot make a reservation in advance, and the lot closes when it’s full. But don’t worry if you can’t find a parking spot; alternatives are available, and we’re going to list all of them to help you out.
Bronx Zoo Parking Alternatives
If the Bronx Zoo lots are filled to capacity, or you want to find a way to lower your expenses, you have several options. Guests can either use a car park near the zoo or avoid parking altogether by using public transit. We looked into off-site parking facilities and public transportation options; keep reading to find out more!
Off-Site Parking
White Plains Road, which is a short walk away from the zoo, has a couple of convenient parking lots. The hourly parking rates start at $1. We suggest the 3380 White Plains Rd Lot; the walk to the zoo will be longer, but you’ll get a valet parking service for $11. Fordham University is within walking distance from the zoo and is a decent alternative to Bronx Zoo parking. Its indoor parking garage is safe and offers covered parking spots. The rate is between $15 and $20. Overnight parking is allowed, too.
Street Parking
On-street parking is limited. However, if you do find a spot, note that usually there’s a time limit of 2 hours, so you can’t leave your car for too long. The hourly rate is $1.50 in White Plains Road, while Bolton street offers free parking. Both are around 10 minutes away from the zoo.
Public Transportation
This is a budget-friendly way to get to the zoo and completely avoid the time-consuming search for parking. The BxM11 express bus from Manhattan runs directly to the Zoo’s Bronx River entrance, and the one-way express bus fare is $6.75. Local buses Bx9 and Bx19 travel to Gate C, while Bx12 or Bx22 buses run to Fordham Road and Southern Blvd. Visitors can also take the #2 train to Pelham Parkway; the station is a 5-minute walk away from Gate B.
Bottom Line
Overall, Bronx Zoo guests have a great number of possibilities when it comes to parking and transportation services. The official lots are the most convenient, but you should also consider using the alternatives if you wish to reduce your expenses. If you choose an off-site low-cost lot, arrive earlier in order to have enough time for a walk to and from the zoo.
